WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 RAM 1500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The purpose of the diagnostic is to monitor the rationality of the park pawl sensor signal. The sensor has two pins to determine the position of the park pawl:

PIN 1 = 0 PIN 2 = 0 Undefined Output
PIN 1 = 1 PIN 2 = 0 Park Pawl Engaged
PIN 1 = 0 PIN 2 = 1 Park Pawl Disengaged
PIN 1 = 1 PIN 2 = 1 Intermediate Position

and two types of faults are monitored:

If the output of the sensor is undefined or the sensor is in the intermediate position too long, this DTC will set.
