Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR RELATED TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE DTCS
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Are any Transmission Fluid Temperature DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 8HP45 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 1500 article and perform the appropriate repair for those DTCs first.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
- TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE ASSEMBLY (TCMA)
If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA) terminals for corrosion, damage, and pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCMA in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to VALVE BODY, REMOVAL .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
