Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Before continuing with this test, diagnose any Anti-lock Module DTCs related to the vehicle speed, or any CAN BUS Communication DTCs that are present.
- With a scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Test drive the vehicle.
- With a scan tool, check for active DTCs.
Is the DTC Active or Pending at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
- VISUALLY INSPECT THE TIRES
- Turn the ignition off.
- Check the tire sizes to ensure that they are all the same.
- Check the tires for excessive wear and proper tire pressure.NOTE:
This code can set due to the front or rear wheels being on a slippery surface while the opposite tires are not.
- Notify the customer and ask what the road and driving conditions were like when the fault set.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary. If the code set during a front or rear wheel spin condition, no repair is necessary.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
