Pump, Water: Removal: 3.0L

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover (1).
  3. Drain the coolant into a clean container. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the temperature sensor (2). Refer to SENSOR, COOLANT TEMPERATURE, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove the thermostat assembly (1). Refer to THERMOSTAT, REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the coolant recovery bottle purge hose from purge tube (2).
  8. Remove the lower radiator hose at water pump (3) and position aside.

  9. Remove serpentine belt tensioner assembly. Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, REMOVAL .

  10. Remove bolts (2, 3) and the belt tensioner mounting bracket (1).

    CAUTION:

    The fuel lines are a one time torque. If the fuel lines are removed. They would require replacing.

  11. Remove the fuel supply line (2). Refer to TUBE(S), FUEL, REMOVAL .

  12. Remove bolts (1) and the coolant tube (2).

  13. Remove bolts (1) and water pump assembly (2).
  14. Remove bolts (5) and the coolant inlet tube (5).
  15. Remove and discard the O-ring seal (3) from the coolant inlet tube (5).

  16. Remove and discard O-ring seal (1) from the engine coolant tube (2).
