Diagnostic Test

- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- Clear all TIPM DTCs.
- Shift the transmission into reverse.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool read: B1668-REVERSE LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (L1) BACKUP LAMP SWITCH OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the TIPM C8 harness connector.
- Disconnect the Inside Rearview Mirror harness connector (if equipped).
- Disconnect the License Plate Lamp/Rear Camera Assembly harness connector (if equipped).
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the (L1) Backup Lamp Switch Output circuit.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes
- Repair the (L1) Backup Lamp Switch Output circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
