Water Leak Strategy
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Dodge Avenger and 2013 Chrysler 200. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Avoid high-pressure washes, as they can damage the top material. Also, increased water pressure may force water past the weatherstrips.
- Identify where the water is entering the vehicle and what environmental conditions/driving conditions they occur at.
- Dry off all areas and tape (1) off the vehicle, as shown in illustration, except where the water is entering (2) and retest to confirm entry.
- Based on where the water is entering and confirmed, diagnose the problem. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Retest after adjustment or part replacement. If not dry, go to step 2. If dry, continue to step 5.
- Remove all tape from the convertible top and test for leaks. Repeat if not dry. Refer to step 1.
