Bi-Halogen Headlamp

CAUTION:

Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Open the service access door in the upper outboard front wheel house splash shield.
  3. Reach through the service access door behind the front lamp unit to access the bulbs from the back of the lamp housing.
  4. Firmly grasp the molded plastic cover (2) on the back of the housing and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
  5. Remove the cover from the lamp housing to access the bi-halogen bulb base on the reflector within the lamp housing.
  6. Disengage the two metal latch tabs of the lamp wiring connector while disconnecting it from the bulb connector receptacle.
  7. Firmly grasp the bulb base on the back of the front lamp unit reflector and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
  8. Pull the bulb and base straight out from the keyed opening in the reflector.
