Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Start the engine.
    2. With the scan tool, select view DTCs.

      Is the status active or pending for this DTC?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE (K605) CNG INJECTOR RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (F342) FUSED ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the CNG Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.
    3. Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
    4. Measure the resistance between the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit and the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit at the Gasoline Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Repair the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit for a short to the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. CHECK THE (K605) GASOLINE INJECTOR RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the resistance between the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit and all other circuits at the CNG Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms between the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit and all other circuits?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Repair the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit for a short to the circuit that measured below 10k Ohms.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. CNG FUEL INJECTOR RELAY 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the CNG Fuel Injector Relay in accordance with the service information.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    5. Start the engine.
    6. With the scan tool, select view DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Repair complete.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
