Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC
- Start the engine.
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Is the status active or pending for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (F342) FUSED ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the CNG Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit at the CNG Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.
Is the approximately equal to battery voltage?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit for an open or high resistance. If the fuse is found to be blown, check the circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (K606) CNG INJECTOR RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.CAUTION:
Do not probe the PCM harness connectors. Probing the PCM harness connectors will damage the PCM terminals resulting in poor terminal to pin connection. Install the GPEC Diagnostic Adaptor to perform the diagnosis.
- Connect the (special tool #10436, Adapter, GPEC Diagnostic).
- Measure the resistance of the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit between the CNG Fuel Injector Relay harness connector and the GPEC Adaptor.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (K606) CNG Injector Relay Control circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CNG FUEL INJECTOR RELAY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the CNG Fuel Injector Relay in accordance with the service information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
