Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Turn the Windshield Washers on and off.
    3. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. ATTEMPT TO SET THE OPPOSITE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Turn the Front Windshield Washers on and off.
    5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool read: B233D-13-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (+) CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM A harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Measure the voltage between ground and the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

      Is there any voltage present?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to voltage in the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
