Valve, Manual Shut-Off: Operation: Operation
The 1/4 turn master turning valve is a ball style valve used as a first response safety device. The valve can be easily be shut off by rotating the valve in a clockwise position so that the valve lever is parallel with the cylinder tanks. When in the open position. The valve is parallel with the bracket that the valve is mounted to.
The valves on the cylinder tanks are
NON REPLACEABLE
If a manual valve on the cylinder tank is in need or repair. The Cylinder tank must be removed and then sent to a certified technician.
The manual valves that are located on the cylinder tanks also house the one-way check valve, which control the CNG pressure. The pressure in the tank acts against the one-way check valve to keep the valve closed unless the applied voltage acts upon the internal solenoid. The solenoid over comes the tank pressure to allow the CNG to flow through out the fuel system. When the CNG cylinder tanks are being filled. The on coming pressure is able to over come the one-way check valve allowing the cylinder tanks to be filled.
The manual valves on the cylinder tanks house built-in safety devices:
To insure there will not be an over charging of the tanks. A mechanical burst disc has been implemented. If the tank pressure reaches 4800-5000 PSI. The pressure will over come the disc and vent the pressure back to the proper tank capacity.
Also added to the valve is a thermally controlled valve. When the temperature of the valve reaches 110C° (230F°). The vent's core will melt, allowing the CNG to vent from the tanks.
