Camshaft Bearings/Bores

Camshaft bores No. 2-6 do not  use a bearing.

  1. Inspect the camshaft bearing and bores for signs of excessive wear.
  2. Measure the camshaft bearing and bores with a telescoping bore gauge and micrometer. If out of specification. Refer to CAMSHAFT, ENGINE, REMOVAL, 6.7L .

  3. Inspect the front camshaft bearing (1) oil holes for alignment with cylinder block.

  4. Inspect the rear camshaft bearing (2) oil holes for alignment with cylinder block.
