  1. Remove the hub bearing. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove tie-rod or drag link end from the steering knuckle arm.
  3. Remove the wheel speed sensor. Refer to SENSOR, WHEEL SPEED, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  4. Loosen the upper ball stud nut.Do not remove the nut at this time. 
  5. Remove the lower ball joint nut.

  6. Separate the lower ball joint (4) using Ball Joint Press (special tool #C-4150A, Press, Ball Joint) (3).
  7. Remove the upper ball joint nut.
  8. Remove the steering knuckle (2).
