Diagnostic Test

- VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE NOTE:
Make sure the 12-Volt battery is fully charged before proceeding.
NOTE:This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- Ignition on, engine off.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on vehicle work order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test Complete.
- (A950) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
- Disconnect the EPS Module C2 harness connector.NOTE:
Wiggle test the wiring harness and electrical connectors while testing the circuit.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A950) Fused B(+) circuit in the EPS Module C2 harness connector.NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (A950) Fused B(+) circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (Z926) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE

NOTE:
Wiggle test the wiring harness and electrical connectors while testing the circuit.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z926) Ground circuit in the EHPS Module C1 harness connector.NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace and program the Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to GEAR, INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION, REMOVAL .
- Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair the (Z926) Ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
