Front Door

NOTE:

Two pressure-type front door side impact sensors are used on all standard cab versions of this vehicle as well as on early-build editions of other cab styles, one each for the left and right sides of the vehicle. Pressure-type impact sensors are NOT used on late-build editions of the club, crew or mega cab versions.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further service.
  2. Remove the trim panel from the inside of the right or left front door. Refer to PANEL, Door Trim , Removal .
  3. Disconnect the front door module wire harness connector (3) from the side impact sensor (1) connector receptacle.
  4. Remove the two screws (4) that secure the sensor to the front door module carrier panel (2).
  5. Remove the side impact sensor from the front door.
