Section 262 (Engine Cooling System - 1500): Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 5.7L

  1. Install thermostat (1) (spring side down) into recessed machined groove with bleed valve located at the 12 o'clock position.
  2. Install the thermostat housing (3) bolts. Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (10 ft. lbs.).

  3. Install the radiator hose (1) onto the thermostat housing (3).
  4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
