  1. CHECK IF DTC IS CURRENT
    NOTE:

The Transmission Control Module stores under Environmental Data the transmission operating conditions when the DTC was set. Before clearing any DTCs, record all information pertaining to the DTC.

    NOTE:

If the Shifter and the EVIC is correctly displaying Park (not flashing), this indicates the TCMA is sending a CAN message that the transmission is in the park position.

    1. With the scan tool, CLEAR transmission DTCs.
    2. Using the Environmental Data previously recorded and try to duplicate the condition in which the DTC set.

      Does the DTC reset?

      Yes

      • Go To  2

      No

      • Go To  6
  2. CHECK THE (T824) PARK CIRCUIT
    1. Ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Transmission assembly harness connector.
    3. Ignition on, engine not running.
    4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (T824) park circuit.

Does the 12-volt test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes

      • Check the terminals in the transmission harness connector for spread terminal, loose or backed out of the connector.
      • Reconnect the transmission harness connector, clear DTCs and check for DTCs.
      • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No

      • Go to  3
  3. CHECK THE (T824) PARK CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Disconnect the RF Hub C1 harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the (T824) Park circuit between the Transmission harness connector and the RF Hub C1 harness connector.

Is the resistance of the (T824) Park circuit below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      No

      • Repair the (T824) Park circuit for an open or high resistance.
      • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    1. Measure the resistance of the (T824) Park circuit between ground and the transmission harness connector.

Is the resistance of the (T824) Park circuit above 100k Ohms?

      Yes

      No

      • Repair the (T824) Park circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. RF HUB

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.

    Repair

    • Using the schematics as a guide, check the RF Hub terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to power and ground circuits. Check Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply. If no problems are found, replace the RF Hub in accordance to the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF HUB), REMOVAL .
    • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
    1. The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
    2. Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
    3. Wiggle the wiring and connectors while checking for any possible open or shorted circuits.
    4. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were any problems found?

      Yes

      • Repair as necessary.
      • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No

      • Test Complete.
