Diagnostic Test

CHECK ORC RELATED CONNECTIONS
WARNING:
Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING:
If the Occupant Restraint Controller is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to follow the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the ORC connectors and all related in-line connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits.
Were any problems found with the ORC connections?
Yes
- Repair the ORC related connections as necessary.
- Perform the Occupant Restraint Controller VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace and program the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the Occupant Restraint Controller VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
