Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (F982) FUSED IGNITION RUN CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Interior Rearview Mirror harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F982) Fused Ignition Run Control Output circuit at the Interior Rearview Mirror harness connector.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Repair the open or short to ground in the (F982) Fused Ignition Run Control Output circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z911) Ground circuit at the Interior Rearview Mirror harness connector.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Repair the open in the (Z911) Ground circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (D402) LIN BUS 2 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Measure the voltage between ground and the (D402) LIN BUS 2 circuit at the Interior Rearview Mirror harness connector.
  Is the voltage above 5.0 volts?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Interior Rearview Mirror in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MIRROR, REARVIEW, REMOVAL .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Repair the open in the (D402) LIN Bus 2 circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
