  2. Check pins in electrical connectors for corrosion, damage or dirt intrusion. Also, check all the PCM pins for being bent. Repair as necessary. Damaged, dirty, bent or corroded pins could result in poor conductivity, causing intermittent electrical issues or DTC's.
  3. Clean pins in electrical connectors with an electrical contact cleaner.
  4. Install PCM harness connectors (3) and harness retainer (1) to PCM (4).
  5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect both negative battery cables.
  7. Program the PCM. Refer to 6.7L PCM PROGRAMMING  .
  8. After programming the PCM, allow the module to fully power down. This process will require 10 minutes for automatic transmission vehicles, or 75 seconds for manual transmission vehicles.
    NOTE:

Vehicles having 6.7L diesel engine with automatic transmissions will require a transmission quick learn after programming the PCM.

  9. Use a diagnostic scan tool to erase any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) from PCM.
