Module, Air Suspension Control (ASCM): Installation

  1. Install the Air Suspension Control Module (ASCM) onto the mounting bracket.
  2. Connect the wire harness connectors to the ASCM.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Position the left front seat to its full forward position.

  5. Install ASCM fasteners (1) to the mounting bracket. Tighten the Air Suspension Control Module (ASCM) nuts to proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  6. Install the Air Supply Control Module (ASCM) cover (1).
  7. Position the left front seat rearward.
  8. For 3500 vehicles, use the scan tool to select the axle type and follow the procedure for single wheel or dual wheels vehicles.
  9. Perform the Curb Height Measurement to get values for input to the scan tool in the next step Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    Make sure the scan tool preferences are set to metric. When writing the measured values to the Air Suspension Control Module (ASCM) they will need to be in millimeters.

  10. With a scan tool, using the routines under the ASCM, perform the following:
    • Command the vehicle to Normal Ride Height (NRH).
    • Perform the Write Suspension Height Values routine and input measurements recorded as prompted by scan tool.
    • Perform the Curb Height Measurement again and verify specifications. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    • Run the Height Sensor Check routine on the air suspension system.
    • Enable the air suspension system.
  11. Perform the ASCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ASCM VERIFICATION TEST .
