Catalyst, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR): Installation

  1. Install a NEW  exhaust flange gasket between the Selective Catalytic Reduction Catalyst (SCR) (2) and the extension pipe.
  2. Position the SCR (2) onto the flange and install flange nuts (3) finger tighten.
  3. Install the isolators (1) onto the SCR (2) hanger rods.
  4. Install the tail pipe assembly. Refer to TAILPIPE, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
  5. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
  6. Tighten the flange nuts (3) to 60 N.m (44 ft. lbs.).
  7. Install the Particulate Matter (PM) sensor. Refer to SENSOR, PARTICULATE MATTER, INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the NOx sensor 1/2. Refer to SENSOR, NOX, INSTALLATION .

  9. Connect the exhaust temperature sensors wire harness connector (1).

  10. Connect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) fluid supply line (1).
  11. Connect the DEF injector wire harness connector (2).

  12. Connect the exhaust temperature sensors wire harness connector (1).
  13. If equipped, install skid plates.
  14. Remove support and lower the vehicle.
  15. Connect both negative battery cables.
