Coupling, Steering Column, Upper: Installation

- Install the upper steering coupling shaft (3) to the vehicle inserting the shaft into the lower coupling.NOTE:
New steering coupling shaft pinch bolts for the upper and lower shafts must be used.
- Install a new lower coupling upper pinch bolt (1) and tighten to specifications. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the upper steering coupling shaft seal (2) to the cowl panel.
- Install the steering column shaft into the upper coupling.
- Install a new upper coupling pinch bolt (3) and tighten to specifications. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Unlock the steering wheel.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
