5.7L Engine

Refer to the applicable Warnings and Cautions for this system before performing the following operation. Refer to PLUMBING, WARNING and PLUMBING, CAUTION . Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the nut (2) that secures the A/C discharge line (3) to the condenser jumper line tapping block (1).
- Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the condenser jumper line tapping block.
- Remove the nut (2) that secures the A/C discharge line (3) to the A/C compressor (4).
- Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C compressor.
NOTE:
Illustration shown with refrigerant lines removed for clarity.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector from the A/C pressure transducer (4).
- Remove the two plastic retaining brackets (2 and 3) that secure the A/C discharge line (5) to the A/C suction line (1) and to the upper front of the engine.
- Remove the A/C discharge line from the engine compartment.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals and gaskets from the A/C discharge line and install plugs in, or tape over the opened discharge line fittings and the jumper line and compressor ports.
- If necessary, remove the A/C pressure transducer from the A/C discharge line. Refer to TRANSDUCER, A/C PRESSURE, REMOVAL .
