Inner Tie Rod End

  1. Thread the inner tie rod (1) to the rack and pinion (2).

  2. Install (special tool #10417, Holder, EPS Steering Rack) (1) onto the EPS Steering Rack on the non-screw side (Driver's Side) to prevent damage to the internal working of the EPS unit during tightening the inner tie rod end.

  3. Install (special tool #10087-9, Socket, Inner Tie Rod) (1) onto the Inner Tie Rod.

  4. Install (special tool #10087-2A, Adapter Wrench, Inner Tie Rod) (1) onto the Inner Tie Rod End and tighten to the proper SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Install a new  inner tie rod end boot (3) and clamp (1, 2) to the tie rod and rack.
  6. Install the jam nut onto the inner tie rod end.
  7. Install the outer tie rod. Refer to END, TIE ROD, INSTALLATION .
