Right Bank

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove support and lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine cover (1).
- Disconnect the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose at resonator.
- Remove the CAC hose from the turbocharger.
- Remove the nut securing the engine oil indicator tube.
- Remove the nuts and the engine cover bracket.
- Disconnect the EGR valve wire harness connector (1).
- Disconnect the EGR cooler vacuum bypass hose (1).
- Remove the EGR tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), REMOVAL .
- Remove the turbocharger-to-EGR cooler tube bolts (1).
- Remove the upper EGR cooler coolant tube bolts (1).
- Remove the bolts (2) and the EGR cooler fitting (3).
- Loosen the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) clamp nut (2) on the front exhaust pipe elbow.
- Remove the nuts (1) and the front exhaust pipe elbow (2).
NOTE:
Torx bolts fasteners may also have been used.
- Remove the bolt (3) at the rear EGR cooler bypass valve support bracket (2).
- Remove the bolts (2) and the EGR and cooler assembly bracket (1).
- Remove the right side fuel injectors. Refer to INJECTOR(S), FUEL, REMOVAL .
- Remove nuts (2) and the turbocharger-to-EGR supply tube heat shield (1).
- Remove the bolts (1) and the cylinder head cover (2).
