Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are there any other DEF system DTCs active?
Yes
- Repair all other DEF system DTCs before proceeding with this test procedure.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- U11C1 ACTIVE
Is DTC U11C1 active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- DEF DOSING CONTROL UNIT
- Check the DEF DCU for proper application.
- Check the DEF DCU to confirm that the flash is correct and up to date.
Is it the correct DEF DCU with the latest flash update?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Replace the DEF Dosing Control Unit (if application is not correct). Use the latest flash update.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- Replace the DEF Dosing Control Module in accordance with the latest Service Information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 30 seconds.
- Start the engine. It may be necessary to test drive the vehicle.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair is complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
