Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE: If DTCs P24D0, P24AE, U04A4, or U02A3 are present, perform the diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- Using the scan tool, record all Freezeframe Data.
- Using the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on, idle the engine to operating temperature.
- Test drive the vehicle under steady state operating conditions for 10 - 15 minutes.
- Using the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is this DTC active?
Yes
- Go to 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION - DIESEL diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L .
- CHECK FOR MISSING OR DAMAGED PM SENSOR PROBE
- Inspect the PM Sensor probe in the exhaust for breakage, poor seating, or otherwise damaged.
Yes
- If the probe is damaged or missing, replace the PM Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
- If the probe is not properly installed in the exhaust, re-install the probe.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Go to 3
- CHECK FOR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OR SOFTWARE UPDATE
- Check for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) or PCM Software Updates.
Are there any TSBs or PCM software updates that address this DTC?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair outlined in the TSB.
- If there is a software update, use the scan tool to reflash the PCM with the latest calibration.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Replace the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
