Removal And Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 RAM 3500 HD and 2019 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  3. Remove the right battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector (2).

  5. Remove the lower coolant hose (1) from coolant recovery bottle.

  6. Remove the pressurized coolant bottle lower nut (1).

  7. Remove the A/C line support bracket bolt (1).
  8. Unlock and remove the A/C line support bracket (2).

  9. Remove the two nuts (1) and position the pressurized coolant recovery bottle (2) forward to gain access to hose clamps.

  10. De-attach the two coolant hose retainers (1 and 3) from the pressurized coolant bottle.
  11. Using the hose clamp pliers (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp), remove the two coolant hoses (2) and the coolant bottle.

INSTALLATION

  1. Using the hose clamp pliers (2) (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp) install the two coolant hose (2) onto the coolant bottle.
  2. Attach the two coolant hose retainers (1 and 3).

  3. Install the pressurized coolant bottle (2) and tighten the two nuts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  4. Install the A/C line support bracket (2) and engage the lock.
  5. Install the A/C line support bracket bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  6. Install the pressurized coolant bottle lower nut (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  7. Install the lower coolant hose (1) to the pressurized coolant bottle.

  8. Connect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector (1).
  9. Install the right battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
