Diagnostic Test

- DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC NOTE:
Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Perform ORC module reset. Access the Miscellaneous Function menu from the ORC ECU Overview screen on the scan tool to perform this operation.
- Using the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Is the DTC active or stored?
ORC - ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
- Go To 2
ORC - STORED DTC
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS-SYSTEM-INTERMITTENT-TEST .
- CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL ACTIVE SQUIB DTCS
- Using the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Are there squib specific DTCs set as active in addition to B0029-9A-1ST ROW RIGHT WINDOW CURTAIN SQUIB 1 - COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATING CONDITIONS?
Yes
- Repair all other active squib specific DTCs before repairing B0029-9A-1ST ROW RIGHT WINDOW CURTAIN SQUIB 1 - COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATING CONDITIONS.
No
- Go To 3
- Using the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
- USE THE SCAN TOOL TO IDENTIFY THE COUPLED CIRCUITS
- Using the scan tool, identify the two or more Squib circuits that read SET.
Are two or more Squib circuits DTCs set?
Yes
- Repair the two or more Squib circuits for a Squib Circuit Coupling condition.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS-SYSTEM-VERIFICATION-TEST .
No
WARNING:If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury.
- Replace the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT (ORC), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS-SYSTEM-VERIFICATION-TEST .
- Using the scan tool, identify the two or more Squib circuits that read SET.
