The purpose of the diagnostic is to check Transmission Pressure Switch circuit for hydraulic failures by continuously monitoring the actual (Closed/Open) state of the Transmission Pressure Switch. If the pressure switch state is Closed (pressure high) while the TCM commanded pressure is less than or equal to a calibrated threshold for a calibrated amount of time, a DTC will be set. If the pressure switch state is Open (pressure low) while the TCM commanded pressure is greater than or equal to a calibrated threshold for a calibrated amount of time, a DTC will be set.
