Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Repair all other DTCs first before proceeding with this test.
- CHECK T-CASE_STAT CAN MESSAGE STATUS
T - CASE Switch Position CAN message status 2WD HI Two Wheel Drive / 2WD 4WD HI 4WD High Range / 4HI 4WD LO 4WD Low Range / 4LO With the scan tool, check the T-CASE_STAT CAN message status.
Is the T-CASE_STAT CAN message status accurate?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK FOR DRIVETRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM) DTCS
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
Are any DTCM DTCs set?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 4
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
- CHECK FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CAN BUS DTCS
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are any BCM CAN BUS DTCs set?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 5
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
- CHECK FOR ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE DTCS
- With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
Are any ABS DTCs set?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 6
- With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
- CHECK BCM FOR PROPER CONFIGURATION
- With the scan tool, check the BCM configuration.
Is the BCM properly configured?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Perform the BCM programming/configuration procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- With the scan tool, check the BCM configuration.
- CHECK ABS FOR PROPER CONFIGURATION
- With the scan tool, check the ABS configuration.
Is the ABS properly configured?
Yes
- Go To 8
No
- Perform the ABS programming/configuration procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- With the scan tool, check the ABS configuration.
- CHECK DTCM FOR PROPER CONFIGURATION
- With the scan tool, check the DTCM configuration.
Is the DTCM properly configured?
Yes
- Go To 9
No
- Perform the DTCM programming/configuration procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- With the scan tool, check the DTCM configuration.
- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Disconnect all TCM harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections.
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all TCM harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Event and Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
DTC returned after performing TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST?
- Replace the ANTI-LOCK Brake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
- CHECK WIRING AND XY107A HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR INTERMITTENT CONNECTIONS NOTE:
The conditions necessary to set the DTC are not present at this time. The code set because of an intermittent condition. Try to determine the cause in this step.
Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect all TCM harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections.
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
- Wiggle the wires while checking for shorted or open circuits.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
