Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Set the parking brake.

  3. Squeeze the two tabs on the lower cable (1) and disconnect from upper cable (2).

  4. Slide cable (1) out of retention bracket (2).

  5. Remove the bulkhead grommet (1) towards the interior, pull the cable (2) through the bulkhead.

  6. Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the Manual Park Release (MPR) lever cover (1).

  7. Remove the two fasteners (1). Remove the MPR lever (2) from the interior panel.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the MPR lever (2) into the interior panel. Install the two fasteners (1) and tighten snug.

  2. Install the MPR lever cover (1)

  3. Route cable (2) through bulkhead and install the grommet (1).

  4. Install cable (1) in to the retention bracket (2).

  5. Install the lower cable to the upper cable (2). Be sure the two tabs on the lower cable (1) are secured in place.
  6. Remove supports and lower the vehicle.
  7. Release the parking brake.
