Removal And Installation

REMOVAL

Remove differential case from the housing. Refer to CASE ASSEMBLY, DIFFERENTIAL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Install Plug (special tool #8964, Plug, Differential Bearing) into the end of the case.

Using a universal 2 jaw puller, remove the bearing (1).

INSTALLATION

WARNING:

Use welding gloves when handling heated components. Failure to follow these instructions will result in personal injury.

Heat differential case bearings (1) with bearing heater (2).
With welding gloves or tongs install bearings on differential case.

Install differential case bearings (1) with Installer (special tool #2067500030, Installer, Differential Carrier Bearing) and Handle (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal).
Install differential case into housing. Refer to CASE ASSEMBLY, DIFFERENTIAL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
