The IPC provides indication to the driver of certain lamps activations. The parking lamps indicator, turn signal indicator, high beam indicator and the lights ON warning indicator will illuminate when active.
In order to alert the driver the vehicle lights have been left in the on position, the IPC monitors the ignition switch position, park lamp status, and the driver door status.
The IPC also provides an instrument panel lighting mode signal that the BCM uses to determine if the automatic headlamps should be ON or OFF.
