Removal And Installation

NOTE:

Shown on a driver seat, passenger side is slightly different as noted in the procedure.

Shown on a manual seat, power seat removal is similar.

REMOVAL

  1. Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. Refer to SEATS, FRONT, WARNING .

  2. Remove the seat track cover (1) by pulling forward firmly.

  4. For passenger seat removal, move the seat to the full forward position and remove the two nuts (2) at the rear of the passenger seat track.
  5. Remove the two seat bolts (1) at the rear of the passenger seat.

  6. For passenger seat removal, move the passenger seat to the full rearward position and remove the two nuts (1) at the front of the passenger seat track
  7. Remove the two seat bolts (1) at the front of the passenger seat.
  8. Move the passenger seat outboard in the vehicle, enough to remove the center seat studs out of the seat track.

  9. For driver seat removal, move the seat in the full forward position and remove both seat bolts (1) at the rear of the seat.

  10. For driver seat removal, move the seat in the full rearward position and remove both seat bolts (1) at the front of the seat.
  11. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  12. Tilt the seat up and unclip and disconnect the wire harness connectors, then remove the seat.

INSTALLATION

  1. Position the front seat into the vehicle. Route and connect the wire harness connectors.
  2. Install all the seat bolts loosely, then tighten the front seat bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Install and tighten the center seat nuts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the seat track cover.
  6. The supplemental restraint system verification test procedure should be performed following service of any supplemental restraint system component. Refer to RESTRAINTS-SYSTEM-VERIFICATION-TEST .
