Removal And Installation

REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the two fasteners (1) that secure the bottom of the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent, disengage the retainer clip that secures the hood release to the steering column opening cover.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent, release the retainer clips that secure the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel and lower the cover.
- Disconnect wire harness connectors (2) and release the side tabs to remove data link connector (1) from cover.
- Remove cover.
INSTALLATION
- Position the hood release to the column opening cover and fully engage the retainer clip that secures the hood release handle to the steering column opening cover.
- Install data link connector to the cover and connect wire harness connectors.
- Position the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel and fully engage the retainer clips to the instrument panel.
- Install and securely tighten the two fasteners for the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel.
- Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
