Removal And Installation

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the two fasteners (1) that secure the bottom of the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel.
  3. Using a trim stick or equivalent, disengage the retainer clip that secures the hood release to the steering column opening cover.

  4. Using a trim stick or equivalent, release the retainer clips that secure the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel and lower the cover.

  5. Disconnect wire harness connectors (2) and release the side tabs to remove data link connector (1) from cover.
  6. Remove cover.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position the hood release to the column opening cover and fully engage the retainer clip that secures the hood release handle to the steering column opening cover.
  2. Install data link connector to the cover and connect wire harness connectors.
  3. Position the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel and fully engage the retainer clips to the instrument panel.
  4. Install and securely tighten the two fasteners for the steering column opening cover to the instrument panel.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
