NOTE:

This procedure is for vehicles with a pick-up bed only. On cab and chassis vehicles the license plate lamp is integral to the left rear lamp unit. The park/brake/turn signal bulb within the left rear lamp unit provides illumination for the license plate lamp function on all cab and chassis vehicles.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Reach under the rear bumper near the center to access the back of either of the two license plate lamp housings (3).
  3. Firmly grasp the socket (2) on the back of the housing and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
  4. Pull the socket and bulb (1) straight out from the keyed opening in the housing.
  5. Pull the base of the bulb straight out of the socket.
