Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Transmission Control Module (TCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Event Data and Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Event and Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER SENSOR DTCS
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Are there other sensor or sensor power supply DTCs set?
Yes
- Check the sensor voltage supply circuit for an open or short to ground. If no problem is found, and using the schematics as a guide, check the TCM connector and all related in-line connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
- CHECK (T12) CLUTCH POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the TCM C1 harness connector.
- Disconnect the Clutch Position Sensor harness connector.
- Check the (T12) Clutch Position Sensor Signal circuit for an open or short to ground.
Was an open or short to ground found?
Yes
- Repair the (T12) Clutch Position Sensor signal circuit for an open or short to ground.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (T190) CLUTCH POSITION SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (T190) Clutch Position Sensor ground circuit between the Clutch Position Sensor and the TCM C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (T190) Clutch Position Sensor ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Clutch Position Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (T190) Clutch Position Sensor ground circuit between the Clutch Position Sensor and the TCM C2 harness connector.
