High Intensity Discharge Headlamps
NOTE:
Vehicles equipped with the High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps are also equipped with the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS). If the AFLS module or either front or rear axle (also known as leveling) sensor has been replaced, the AFLS module must store the leveling sensor at the 0 (zero) position first, before the headlamps can be correctly and successfully aimed.
- Create a second lamp horizontal reference line 5.3 centimeters (2.1 inches) below the initial line created in Step 6 of the Lamp Alignment Screen Preparation procedure. This line will be the High Intensity Discharge (HID) horizontal reference height.
- Turn the headlamps ON and select the LOW beams.
- Block the light of the right headlamp.
- Rotate the left headlamp vertical adjustment screw to adjust the left side of the beam pattern to the HID horizontal reference height as required.
- Block the light of the left headlamp.
- Rotate the right headlamp vertical adjustment screw to adjust the left side of the beam pattern to the HID horizontal reference height as required.
- For export markets only, use a screwdriver to rotate the headlamp horizontal adjustment screw on the back of each front lamp unit housing to adjust the beam horizontally to the right or left as required.
