Convertible Top, CST And RHT Common Components: DECKBAR: Removal: Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
2. Remove the decklid. Refer to DECKLID, CONVERTIBLE, REMOVAL  or DECKLID, SEDAN, REMOVAL .
3. Remove the rear and side trunk trim panels. Refer to PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REMOVAL .
4. Disconnect the deckbar hydraulic cylinders on both the left and right sides (3). Refer to CYLINDER, FOLDING TOP HYDRAULIC, REMOVAL  or CYLINDER, FOLDING TOP HYDRAULIC, PANEL TO PANEL, REMOVAL .

5. Remove the mounting fasteners (2) and remove the MOAB bracket (1) mounting cover (3).
6. From the right side, unclip the decklid harness from the deckbar.

7. With a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the placement of the rear hinges onto the body.
8. Remove the two bolts (2) to each deckbar hinge.

9. Push down on both deckbar cylinder's (2) until they have reached the cylinder stops (3). As the cable assembly (1) moves with the cylinder, the decklid forward latches will release.
10. With the help of an assistant, remove the deckbar from the vehicle.
11. Transfer all necessary parts to the new deckbar if replacing with a new one.
