Engine Oil Pump - Removal

REMOVAL










NOTE: The oil pump pressure relief valve can be serviced by removing the oil pan.

1. Remove crankshaft vibration damper Vibration Damper - Removal
2. Remove timing chain cover Engine Timing Cover(s) - Removal
3. Remove timing chain and sprockets Timing Chain & Sprockets - Removal
4. Remove oil pan Engine Oil Pan - Removal
5. Remove oil pick-up tube (3) and O-ring (2).
6. Ensure that crankshaft is positioned so that the oil pump drive flats are parallel to the oil pan mounting surface This position will properly locate oil pump upon installation.
7. Remove oil pump attaching bolts (1).
8. Remove oil pump (5).
