- Install side gears (1)
and thrust washers (2) into case through opening and rotating into position.
1 - THRUST WASHER 2 - PINION GEAR - Install pinion gears (2)
and thrust washers (1) into case through opening and rotating into position.
1 - PINION SHAFT 2 - DIFFERENTIAL CASE 3 - PINION GEAR (2) - Install pinion shaft (1)

1 - DIFFERENTIAL CASE 2 - RING GEAR - If previously removed, install ring gear to differential case (1)

1 - PINION SHAFT RETAINER - Install pinion shaft retainer (1)

1 - DIFFERENTIAL CASE 2 - BOLT (12) 3 - RING GEAR 4 - PINION SHAFT RETAINER (2) - Install NEW
ring gear-to-case bolts (2)
and torque to 81 N.m (60 ft. lbs.) torque.
1 - SPEEDOMETER GEAR - Install speedometer drive gear (1)
to case. Note orientation of index tab.
1 - STEEL STOCK 2 - INSTALLER L-4440 3 - SPEEDOMETER GEAR 4 - DIFFERENTIAL CASE - Using Steel Block and Installer L-4440 (1)
, press speedometer drive gear (3) into position.
1 - ARBOR PRESS RAM 2 - BEARING CONE 3 - HANDLE C-4171 4 - INSTALLER L-4410 5 - DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY - Using an arbor press (1)
, Handle C-4171(3), and Installer L-4410 (4), install differential side bearings to ring gear side.
1 - HANDLE C-4171 2 - INSTALLER L-4410 3 - BEARING CONE - Using an arbor press, Handle C-4171 (1) , and Installer L-4410 (2), install differential side bearings (3) to case side.
