NOTE: 2.4L-equipped models (including Turbo) do not use the clutch pedal upstop switch/feature. These vehicles will only utilize the starter inhibit (interlock) feature.

The clutch interlock/upstop switch (1) is an assembly consisting of two switches: an engine starter inhibit switch (interlock) (2) and a clutch pedal upstop switch (1). See Fig 1. The switch assembly is located in the clutch/brake pedal bracket assembly, each switch being fastened by four plastic wing tabs. The connector (3) is secured to the pedal/bracket assembly by a plastic retainer.
