1.6L/2.4L MODELS (Except Diesel and Turbo)

1 - RETAINER CLIPS
  1. Connect slave cylinder to hydraulic tube. Press both retainer clips (1) to secure tube in cylinder. See Fig 1.

  2. On 1.6L only,  install the slave cylinder assembly (1) into position on transaxle and tighten bolts (2) to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).

  3. On 2.0L/2.4L only,  install the slave cylinder assembly (1) into position on transaxle and tighten bolts to 19 N.m (168 in. lbs.). See Fig 2 or Fig 3 .
  4. Lower vehicle.
  5. Verify brake master cylinder reservoir is full. Top off with DOT 3 brake fluid if necessary.
  6. Bleed clutch hydraulic system. See Clutch - Standard Procedure .
  7. Verify proper clutch release system operation.
