CYLINDER ASSEMBLY, Wheel: Installation: Installation

- Install the wheel cylinder onto the brake support plate. Install and tighten the mounting screws (1) to 13 N.m (115 in. lbs.).
- Hand start the brake tube nut (2) into the wheel cylinder (1). Tighten the tube nut to 17 N.m (150 in. lbs.).

- Install the drum brake shoes (6) and drum. Adjust shoes as necessary. See Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/SHOES, Brake - Installation
- Install the tire and wheel assembly (1). Refer to Tires and Wheels - Installation . Install and tighten the wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 N.m (100 ft. lbs.).
- Slowly rotate the rear wheel and verify that the brake drum lightly drags on the shoes.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the brake pedal holder.
- Bleed the wheel cylinder as necessary. See Brakes - Standard Procedure
- Road test the vehicle to make sure the brakes operate correctly.
