SHAFT, Output, 5th, 6th, and Reverse: Disassembly: Disassembly

NOTE:
The retaining bolt has left hand threads.
- Remove the retaining bolt (2) for the case side tapered roller bearing (3).
- Using Remover L-4406 (1) and Collets L-4406-2 remove the case side reverse/fifth/sixth output shaft bearing.
- Remove sixth gear (1) from the output shaft.
- Remove sixth gear needle bearing (1) from output shaft.
- Using Snap Ring Pliers (1) remove the snap ring (2) holding the fifth/sixth gear synchronizer (3).
NOTE: Insure synchronizer in the neutral position.
- Remove fifth gear (2) and the fifth/sixth gear synchronizer (1) together.
- Remove the fifth gear needle bearing (1) from the output shaft (2).
- Remove the reverse synchronizer lock ring assembly (1, 2) from the output shaft.
- Remove the reverse synchronizer snap ring (1) using Snap Ring Pliers (2).
- Remove reverse gear (2) and the synchronizer (1) together.
- Remove the reverse needle bearing (2) from the output shaft (1).
- Using Remover 5048-6, 5048-1 (2), Collets 6545 and Plug 8140-2, remove the bellhousing side reverse/fifth/sixth output shaft bearing from the output shaft (3).
