WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Dodge Caliber. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
If an OVERBOOST or UNDERBOOST condition exists, check for DTCs. To identify the source of the DTC.
- Using a paint pen, mark (4) the wastegate actuator rod (2) in line with the turbocharger to actuator mounting bracket (3).
- Remove the wastegate actuator pressure line (1).
- Connect a 5mm (3/16 in.) diamiater tube onto the nipple on the wastegate actuator (2).CAUTION: Do not exceed 135kpa (20 psi) or damage to the wastegate actuator diaphragm wiil result.
- Using Air Pressure Regulator W-18-MIL-1146AS, apply 69 ± 3.5 kPa (10 ±.5 psi.) to the wastegate actuator.
- The wastegate actuator rod should move a minimum of 6 mm (0.236 in.)CAUTION: Do not attempt to adjust the wastegate actuator rod. Doing so will cause unreliable engine operation.
- If the wastegate actuator is out of specification, replace the turbocharger.
