Section 43 (2.4L Engine (Service Information)): Removal: SRT4

  1. Perform fuel draining procedure.
  2. Remove hood.
  3. Evacuate A/C system.
  4. Drain coolant. Refer to Cooling - Standard Procedure .
  5. Remove air cleaner inlet (2).

  6. Remove cables from battery (2).
  7. Remove battery (2).

  8. Remove battery tray (1).

  9. Remove inter cooler inlet hose (1).
  10. Remove cooling module.
  11. Remove lower radiator hose from radiator and coolant adapter.

  12. Disconnect reverse light connector (2) on transaxle.

  13. Remove PCM and PCM bracket.
  14. Disconnect shift linkage cables (1).

  15. Disconnect hydraulic clutch line (3).
  16. Remove heater hoses from coolant adapter.
  17. Disconnect coolant after run pump electrical connector.
  18. Remove coolant after run pump from cowl.

  19. Disconnect solenoid electrical connectors (2).
  20. Disconnect air inlet temp sensor and boost pressure sensor electrical connectors.

  21. Remove coolant reservoir (3).

  22. Remove A/C lines from compressor (1).
  23. Remove ground strap from cylinder head.

  24. Remove vacuum lines from turbo charger (1).
  25. Remove vacuum line from intake manifold.
  26. Remove ground cable from bell housing.

  27. Remove throttle body support (1).
  28. Remove harness retainer from intake manifold (2).

  29. Disconnect fuel line (3).
  30. Disconnect oil control solenoids, oxygen sensor, MAP, ETC, flow control valve, oil temperature sensor, injectors, cam sensors, coils, capacitor, and coolant temperature sensor electrical connectors and reposition harness.
  31. Disconnect PCV hose (5).

  32. Remove dipstick (2).
  33. Disconnect power steering line (1) from pump.

  34. Remove power steering line support retaining bolt (1).

  35. Remove intake manifold retaining bolts.
  36. Remove intake manifold.
  37. Disconnect A/C, generator, starter, knock sensor, oil pressure sensor electrical connectors.
  38. Remove lower radiator hose from oil cooler.

  39. Disconnect power steering return hose from power steering reservoir (2).
  40. Raise vehicle.
  41. Remove tires.
  42. Remove axle shafts.

  43. Disconnect downstream oxygen sensor electrical connector (3).
  44. Remove exhaust pipe from catalytic converter (1).

  45. Remove front mount through bolt.
  46. Rear mount through bolt.
  47. Remove fore/aft member retaining bolts (2,3) and remove fore/aft member (1).
  48. Remove front engine mount bracket.

  49. Remove lower bell housing bolts.
  50. Disconnect CKP sensor (2).
  51. Remove air inlet from turbo charger.
  52. Lower vehicle.

  53. Install engine lift fixture 9704 (1).
  54. Position powertrain dolly 6135 (2,8) and cradle posts 6848 (3,6,7,12) under powertrain.
  55. Lower vehicle onto posts.
    WARNING: Failure to use safety straps, could result in serious or fatal injury.
  56. Install safety straps (5,9).

  57. Remove left mount to transaxle bolts (2).

  58. Remove right mount bracket to engine bolts (1).
  59. Raise body away from powertrain assembly.
