Section 31 (Starting System): Starter: Removal: Removal

  1. Remove air cleaner box and air tube.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable
  3. Remove starter motor mounting bolt.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector at throttle body.

  5. Remove throttle body bolts and remove throttle body.

  6. Push starter under intake manifold.
  7. Tip starter nose toward cooling module.
  8. Pull starter up and out.

  9. Disconnect starter motor wiring.
  10. Remove starter motor from vehicle.
